Paral-lel is an annual exhibition by students at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería del Diseño (Advanced School of Design Engineering) at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. Every year, the project showcases the products created by these young designers around a common theme. The students work on the concepts in such a way as to show their technical abilities and skills in each of the phases involved in designing the item. Paral-lel 5 is showing five pieces of smaller items of furniture (mueble auxiliar) inspired by the new values in the workplace. The designs are based on the four main aspects of smart working: collaborative working, flexibility of working hours, mobility and new technologies. Each design is geared to a specific setting and provides an intelligent, efficient solution to the needs that might exist in that setting.
